Staying Engaged (la version française suivra)

Hello to all our members. Its been a while now since my last communication, too long in fact. I was reminded today about the importance of staying in contact with our players and coaches. Our coaches who are vital to the success of our organization, its eventual return to our soccer fields and the only point of reference to how our players are doing.  As President, I have preoccupied myself with the politics of soccer, and completely missed what was important, you; our members and players.

I could easily sit here and make excuses, or tell you I was waiting for an eventual plan to be passed down from the soccer gods. Instead I will say the truth. The current environment left me unprepared and overwhelmed with personal fear. Fear for my job, fear for my family and fear for my well being.

As Soccer Quebec prepares for an eventual return to soccer, I’m hoping with the help of our coaches, to get things back on track. Next week, I’ll be booking a virtual session with them to capture their opinions, ideas and best practices to keep all of our players and teams active and involved. I’m told many of them have been diligently at work keeping you engaged, so while I may be late to the party, I’m hoping that now that I’m here we can leverage all their great ideas and share them across the association.

So, stay tuned and stay safe
